Current Crisis

UPDATED RISK ASSESSMENT & COVID19 SECURE PROTOCOL:  17th June 2020

In order to minimise the risk of the spread of the virus within this clinic, the following risk assessment has been carried out and procedures put in place:

  • All patients will be emailed a screening form the day before their appointment which needs to be completed, signed and dated and emailed back prior to coming into the clinic.
  • If possible, I would ask that you take a photo of your tongue in good daylight and include it with your form as I won't be looking  into your mouth when you visit.
  • Initial consultations will be carried out remotely.
  •  You are encouraged to come to the clinic on your own if possible, ideally avoiding public transport. Please limit the items that you bring into the clinic.
  • 10 minutes will be allowed between appointments to accommodate extra cleaning, to allow additional ventilation of the treatment room and to avoid overlap of patients. All soft furnishings have been removed from the treatment room so that all surfaces (i.e. couch, door handles, switches, bathroom facilities, footstool, chair and table) which may have been in contact with a patient will be disinfected between each patient.
  •  All blankets/towels are single use and washed at 60° after use in line with the government guidelines.
  •  At the end of each day floors and any other surfaces will also be cleaned and waste disposed of appropriately.
  • Please wait outside the gate for me to come and greet you when I’m ready. I will also see you out.
  • You will be asked to wash your hands on entering the clinic before touching anything and on leaving. Details on hand cleaning will be displayed.
  • You will be asked to wear a mask which I will provide once you have washed your hands. Due to an assessment of risk conducted in order to minimise the transmission of COVID-19, in this practice, it will only be possible to admit clients who are able to wear face-coverings. If this is not possible and you claim a legal exemption from wearing a face-covering, I will try to provide you with details of a practitioner who will be able to see you. This is a decision made solely on the basis of a risk assessment of the individual circumstances of my practice.
  • Tissues will be available in case you need to cough or sneeze and should then be disposed of in my clinical bin. You will be asked to wash/sanitise your hands afterwards.
  •  In addition to my standard uniform, I will also be wearing a (clinical) mask, a visor and potentially other PPE depending on the circumstances.
  •  My usual standards of handwashing/sanitising as per the BAcC guidelines will be adhered to.
  •  You will  need to contact me if you develop the virus symptoms as per the government guidelines or have a confirmed diagnosis within 48 hours of leaving my practice.

Many thanks for your cooperation.
